Black History Film Festival Feb 2023

I, Too, Sing America… This line from Langston Hughes’ seminal poem, I, Too, encapsulates the organizing principle central to the Black History Month Film Festival – that America, as a country, idea and ideal in waiting, must seat everyone at her table. With the proliferation of streaming content, any of us can watch a movie at home in the company of family and friends who typically share our experiences and points of view. However, the I, Too, Sing America Black History Month Film Festival creates a space not only for watching this entertaining and educational content, but for the meaningful conversations that follow with people whose paths we might not otherwise cross so that understanding, respect, and friendships can grow as we walk on the collective path towards a racially just and unified community.
